Students and academics from Batman University in Türkiye have voiced their outrage over the recent police violence against demonstrators participating in Gaza protests at universities in the United States.
Showing solidarity with their counterparts across the globe, Batman University students and academics organized a demonstration in support of the Gaza protests held in the US. Gathered in front of the Faculty of Islamic Sciences, they unfurled Palestinian flags and chanted slogans against the Zionist occupation regime.
During the event, attended by representatives from non-governmental organizations (NGOs), Prof. Dr. Şemsettin Dursun addressed the crowd, highlighting the widespread protests across the US and Europe in response to the Gaza crisis.
"Protests are being held in all states of the USA," Prof. Dursun stated passionately. "It's the spirit of Gaza that has brought the USA to its feet. People in Europe are increasingly showing favor towards Islam every day, and the world is pregnant with Islam."
Following Dursun's remarks, Rıdvan Ergin, speaking on behalf of the students, criticized the US for supporting the israeli occupation regime in Gaza.
"While the imperialist USA protects the zionists, who were humiliated by the mujahideen of Gaza," Ergin asserted, "we have been witnessing the intensification of anti-zionist demonstrations in universities across the country."
Ergin also expressed solidarity with students who established Palestinian camps on campuses, praising their commitment to the Palestinian cause despite opposition and violence from authorities.
"In the light of the torch of resistance lit in Gaza," Ergin declared, "the world is witnessing thousands of people of conscience in the USA, who shout out against their cruel rulers without hesitation."
The event concluded with a prayer for the people of Gaza, underscoring the participants' unwavering dedication to supporting the Palestinian resistance and their belief in the eventual defeat of Zionism by the conscience of humanity. (ILKHA)
