Israeli occupation forces intensify brutal siege on Jenin for 59th consecutive day

The Israeli occupation forces have continued their relentless assault on the city of Jenin and its refugee camp for the 59th straight day, escalating their campaign of destruction, forced displacement, and violence against Palestinian civilians.
On Wednesday, occupation forces issued demolition orders for at least 66 homes in several neighborhoods of Jenin camp, including Al-Hawashin, Al-Aloub, Azzam Mosque, Jourat Al-Dhahab, and Harat Al-Samran. The demolitions, carried out under the pretext of expanding roads, are seen as part of a systematic effort to facilitate the movement of Israeli military vehicles and deepen control over the camp.
In a shocking act of brutality, Israeli forces set fire to multiple Palestinian homes near the Al-Saadi Diwan inside the camp, further compounding the suffering of displaced families. They have also blocked the main road leading to Jenin Governmental Hospital, restricting access to urgent medical care for the wounded.
Since the start of the invasion, Israeli forces have detained at least 227 Palestinian civilians from the Jenin Governorate, subjecting many more to harsh interrogations and field investigations. Reports indicate that nearly 3,200 families have been forcibly displaced from their homes, rendering thousands homeless.
According to the Jenin Municipality, Israeli bulldozers have razed 100% of the roads inside the refugee camp and 80% of the streets in the city of Jenin, leaving essential infrastructure in ruins. The widespread destruction has devastated the local economy, pushing many Palestinian families into deepening poverty as businesses remain shuttered and livelihoods destroyed.
The Israeli assault on Jenin has already claimed the lives of 34 Palestinians, with dozens more wounded in indiscriminate attacks. The occupation’s continued crackdown has seen the arrest and disappearance of numerous civilians, with families left in anguish over their missing loved ones.
The relentless siege of Jenin is yet another chapter in Israel’s systematic oppression of the Palestinian people, as human rights organizations continue to warn of the devastating impact of these assaults. Meanwhile, Palestinian resistance groups have vowed to stand firm against the occupation’s brutality, reaffirming their commitment to defending their land and people.
Despite mounting international calls for an end to Israel’s atrocities, the occupation forces continue to expand their aggression unchecked. Palestinians in Jenin, as in the rest of the occupied territories, remain steadfast in their struggle for justice, dignity, and freedom. (ILKHA)
