Turkish trade sales see significant increases in December

The Turkish Statistical Institute reported significant growth in trade sales volume and retail sales volume index in December 2024.
According to the statement released on Tuesday, trade sales volume increased by 8.2% on an annual basis, while the retail sales volume index saw a notable rise of 13.5%.
In December 2024, compared to the same month of the previous year, the volume of wholesale and retail trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles grew by 5.1%, wholesale trade sales volume increased by 6.7%, and retail trade sales volume surged by 13.5%.
On a monthly basis, trade sales volume rose by 4.7% in December 2024 compared to the previous month. In the same period, the volume of wholesale and retail trade and repair of motor vehicles and motorcycles increased by 0.9%, wholesale trade sales volume grew by 7.3%, and retail trade sales volume saw a modest rise of 0.4%.
