Türkiye’s construction output rises 29.9% annually in September: TurkStat
Türkiye’s construction output increased by 29.9% year-on-year in September 2025, according to data released Friday by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat). The figure marks one of the sector’s strongest monthly performances in recent years.
All major subsectors recorded notable annual growth. The construction of buildings index rose by 31.2%, while civil engineering activities increased by 23.3%. Specialised construction activities posted a 30.1% rise compared with September 2024.
The sector also maintained momentum on a monthly basis. Total construction production grew by 4.3% from August to September. The construction of buildings index increased by 4.5%, the civil engineering index by 3.2%, and specialised construction activities by 4.1%.
Economists attribute the sector’s strong performance to ongoing urban transformation projects, rising housing demand and accelerated public infrastructure investments across the country.
Construction remains a key driver of Türkiye’s economic growth, contributing significantly to employment and domestic consumption. TurkStat is expected to release the next set of construction data in late December. (ILKHA)
