Türkiye’s industrial production rises 7.1% annually in August
Türkiye’s industrial production increased by 7.1% year-on-year in August 2025, according to data released by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) on Thursday.
The report indicated strong growth across key sectors of the industry, reflecting continued momentum in the country’s manufacturing and energy output.
When analyzed by subsectors, the mining and quarrying index rose by 2.6%, the manufacturing index surged by 7.7%, and the electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply index climbed by 6.1% compared with the same month of the previous year.
On a monthly basis, the overall industrial production increased by 0.4% in August 2025, signaling steady expansion despite mixed trends across subsectors.
Compared with July 2025, the mining and quarrying index edged down by 0.1%, the manufacturing index rose by 0.7%, while the electricity, gas, steam, and air conditioning supply index dropped by 2.5%.
Economists noted that the latest figures underscore the resilience of Türkiye’s industrial sector amid global economic challenges, with manufacturing remaining the primary driver of industrial output growth. (ILKHA)
