US pulls back their Patriot missile systems in Turkey
Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stated that the mission Patriot missile system that is going to be expired in October will be taken back by US.
Ministry of Foreign Affairs and US Ankara Embassy made a joint statement, it was reported that the assignment of Patriot missile system in Turkey will be expired in October and on that date the system will be taken back.
In the statement, it was reported that in case of need the US Patriot elements and personnel will be returned in a week.
US and NATO's commitment to the defense of its allies, including Turkey, the statement were as follows, "US Missile Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) will be keep their logistic movement area ready and in case of return the basement for the system will be protected in case of need to return. US is ready to bring their patriot missile system in one week in case of return.
The US also, will maintain its continuous availability of "Aegis" ships in East Mediterranean sea. These vessels, including support to the NATO air and missile defense, and has a number of abilities to support the defense of the Turkey and NATO missions. US’s European Naval Forces, in support of the Turkish defense needs in the region will continue the close cooperation with the Turkish Navy." (ILKHA)
