"Yemen is being sacrificed to the US and China's economic war"
"Yemen is a victim of the great economic war between China and America in recent years," said Bülent Yıldırım, President of the IHH, also stated that 20 million people are in need of assistance.
Saudi and its allies have killed more than 14,000 civilians in the attacks on Yemen since 2015. Yemen's infrastructure in the attacks has become unusable by 80 percent, while there are serious deaths due to malnutrition and health conditions in the country.
IHH President Bülent Yıldırım, who made evaluations to ILKHA on Yemen, said that Yemen was victimized by the economic war between the US and China. Yıldırım added that the Islamic countries are silent against Yemen's drama.
"Yemen is a victim of the great economic war between China and the United States in recent years. In particular, the existence of the sea, land and Silk Roads in these lands caused the active movement of China and the United States in this region," said Yıldırım.
Because of this movement, Yıldırım stated that the power of proxy war took place and that the Yemeni people were seriously affected. "As a result of the war, the population of 27 million 400 thousand people in Yemen tries to maintain their lives in hunger and thirst."
At least 21 million of these people are in need of help, including people who are heavily exposed to diseases said Yıldırım and added that people lose their lives because of malnutrition.
Stating that they have been trying to continue our help since the beginning of the war, Yıldırım continued: "But there, unfortunately, due to the attitude of the United Arab Emirates, these aids are now being hindered in a manner contrary to international law. Despite this, we are in an effort to deliver our assistance to the Sunnis and the Zeydis regions. These assistances are not enough to cure the people there, because they have blocked all the roads."
Underlining that Yemen was one of the countries that help the Palestinian people the most, Yıldırım said: Palestinian began to lose even more of the territories with the fact that the people of Yemen are in this situation, and Egypt's latest situation, which cruelty doubled with Sisi."
Stressing that the war of Yemen should be ended as soon as, Yıldırım called on Turkiye to mediate between Saudi and Iran to solve this crisis with the end of the war. Yıldırım also called on international law to effort for the lift of roadblocks. (Nizamettin Aşkın - ILKHA)
