Housing sales in Turkiye decreased by 24.8 percent, 72,937 houses sold in January 2019 compared to the same month of the previous year.

In Turkiye, house sales decreased by 24.8% in January 2019 compared to the same month of the previous year and hence, became 72 937.

For the house sales of January 2019, İstanbul had the highest share of house sales with 18.4% and 13,455 sold house. The followers of İstanbul were Ankara with 6 785 house sales and İzmir 3 795 house sales with a share of 9.3% and 5.2% respectively.

The least house sold provinces were Ardahan with 7 house sales, Hakkari with 9 house sales, Bayburt with 17 house sales.

In house sales, 31 048 of houses were sold for the first time

First house sales in Turkiye became 31 048 by decreasing 30% compared to the same month of the previous year. First house sales had a 42.6% share of all house sales in Turkiye.

The most first house sales were in İstanbul with 6 019 sales. İstanbul was the first province in Turkiye ranking that had the most first house sales share with 19.4%. The followers of İstanbul were Ankara with 2,604 house sales and İzmir with 1,589 house sales.

Ownership of 41 889 houses changed by second-hand sales

Second-hand house sales in Turkiye became 41 889 by decreasing 20.4% compared to the same month of the previous year.

In the second-hand sales, İstanbul was the first province again with 7,436 sales and 17.8% share. The share of the second-hand sales was 55.3% in İstanbul in total house sales. Ankara was the second province with 4 181 sales and Ankara was followed by Antalya with 2,405 sales.

In January 2019, 3 168 houses were sold to foreigners

In house sales to foreigners became 3,168 by increasing 81.9% compared to the same month of the previous year.

İstanbul was the first province with 1,361 sales in January 2019. The followers of İstanbul were Antalya with 601 house sales, Ankara with 182 house sales, Bursa with 177 house sales and Yalova with 162 house sales.

Most house sales were made to Iraq citizens according to country nationalities

Iraqi citizens bought 605 houses from Turkiye in January. The followers of Iraq were Iran with 305 house sales, Russian with 195 house sales, Afghanistan with 191 house sales and Jordan with 151 house sales. (ILKHA)
