Over 100 million vehicles have passed through the Eurasia Tunnel since it was inaugurated on Dec 22, 2016, Türkiye’s Transport and Infrastructure Minister Adil Karaismiloğlu has announced.
“100 million vehicles passed through the Eurasia Tunnel since it was inaugurated on Dec 22, 2016,” Karaismailoğlu said, noting that the tunnel both relieves Istanbul’s traffic and contributes to the economy.
The minister also pointed out that over 256,264 motorcyclists have used the tunnel since the tunnel started to serve motorcyclists on May 1, 2022.
The tunnel, which was put into service on Dec. 22, 2016, reduced the travel time between the Asian and European continents to five minutes. (ILKHA)
