Turkish Coast Guard Command teams conducted a series of rescue operations off the coasts of Datça, Marmaris, and Milas, saving a total of 38 irregular migrants.
The migrants were rescued from the sea and apprehended on land in separate incidents, as part of ongoing efforts to combat irregular migration in the region.
In Datça, 15 migrants were found on the sea surface near Akçalı Island, while 23 others, including two children, were rescued from a rubber boat.
Meanwhile, in Armella Bay, located in the Marmaris district, eight irregular migrants, including three children, were captured on land after reaching the shore.
In another operation off Milas district, 19 migrants, including two children, were apprehended after authorities stopped their moving boat.
Following their rescue, all migrants were transferred to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management for further processing.
Türkiye’s coastal regions, particularly in the Aegean and Mediterranean seas, continue to be a key area for irregular migration, with the Coast Guard playing a critical role in rescue and interception efforts. (ILKHA)
