Head of media and communications in the Turkish presidency, Fahrettin Altun, spoke by phone with U.S. Ambassador David Satterfield earlier this afternoon.
Altun expressed his concerns about violent attacks targeting employees of Turkish media outlets, including TRT World, and received assurances that the United States administration regretted said incidents and would monitor the situation.
Reiterating that peaceful protests were legitimate and violence was categorically illegitimate in democracies, Altun stressed that FETÖ and ANTIFA, which cooperates with PKK-YPG terrorists in Syria, have been supporting acts of violence in the United States.
Turkey continues to work closely with the United States, our friend and NATO ally, whom we have repeatedly warned against the terrorist organizations FETÖ and PKK-YPG in the past, against all terrorist groups. (ILKHA)
