A landslide killed at least 14 people attending a funeral in Cameroon’s capital, Yaoundé, on Sunday, the region’s governor said.
The incident occurred on the evening of Sunday in the Antenne Damas neighborhood in Yaounde, Centre region, according to local reports
“They were attending a meeting in this place, a very dangerous area when suddenly there was a landslide. That landslide killed 14 people and over 10 others have been taken to various hospitals.,” said Naseri Paul Bea, the Governor of the Centre region.
Search and rescue efforts are underway to reach victims, he added. (ILKHA)
