Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on Saturday held a phone conversation with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
During the call, the two leaders discussed bilateral relations between Türkiye and Azerbaijan, as well as key regional and global developments.
Aliyev expressed his concern over the recent forest fires in Türkiye, extending his wishes for a swift resolution. He also emphasized Azerbaijan's readiness to provide any necessary assistance, noting that a firefighting aircraft had already been dispatched to support Türkiye's ongoing firefighting efforts.
In response, President Erdoğan expressed his gratitude for the solidarity shown by the Azerbaijani people and highlighted that the bond between Türkiye and Azerbaijan is further strengthened in challenging times like these. The leaders reaffirmed the strong brotherhood and mutual support that underpin the relationship between the two nations. (ILKHA)
