Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan extended his congratulations to President Ilham Aliyev and the people of Azerbaijan on their Independence Day.
In a heartfelt message, President Erdoğan highlighted the significant progress Azerbaijan has made since gaining independence and reaffirmed the strong ties between the two nations.
"Since its independence, Azerbaijan has embarked on a path that we are proud of," Erdoğan stated. He expressed Türkiye's shared pride and joy in celebrating Azerbaijan's first Independence Day since the successful restoration of its territorial integrity in September 2023.
Erdoğan emphasized the close relationship between the two countries, referring to the bond as "one nation, two states." He noted the continued progress of Azerbaijan in both the region and its immediate geography and expressed pleasure at the mutual desire to strengthen high-level strategic relations.
"We are always proud of Azerbaijan's progress in both the region and immediate geography, and we are very pleased with the shared desire to strengthen our high-level strategic relations in the spirit of 'one nation, two states'," Erdoğan added.
