Erdoğan: Israel’s Gaza occupation plan is unacceptable

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has condemned the Netanyahu government’s plan to bring all of Gaza under Israeli military control, calling it “unacceptable.”
According to a statement shared by the Turkish Presidency on its social media platform NSosyal, Erdoğan made the remarks during a phone call on Wednesday with Dutch Prime Minister Dick Schoof. The two leaders discussed bilateral relations between Türkiye and the Netherlands, as well as a range of regional and global issues.
Erdoğan expressed his satisfaction with the strengthening partnership between the two countries, particularly in trade and defense, noting that Türkiye and the Netherlands would continue to take steps to further enhance cooperation.
On international affairs, Erdoğan highlighted Türkiye’s ongoing efforts to promote a just and lasting peace in the Russia-Ukraine war. He reiterated that Türkiye remains committed to advancing the Istanbul Process, emphasizing its role as a mediator in creating conditions for meaningful dialogue and an eventual resolution to the conflict.
The Turkish leader’s strong rejection of Israel’s Gaza occupation plan comes as tensions rise over the Netanyahu government’s declared intent to tighten its military grip over the enclave, a move widely criticized as a violation of international law and Palestinian sovereignty. (ILKHA)
