Erdoğan praises Meloni’s stance on family values in phone call

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan held a phone conversation with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, focusing on Türkiye-Italy relations, the escalating Israeli aggression in the Middle East, and other regional and global matters.
During the call, President Erdoğan emphasized the continuous strengthening of ties between Türkiye and Italy, highlighting the potential for increased bilateral trade. He pointed out that determined steps, particularly in the defense industry, could boost the trade volume between the two nations.
Addressing the situation in the Middle East, President Erdoğan condemned Israel’s expansion of its military actions and stressed the need for the international community to act collectively to stop the aggression. He also mentioned Türkiye's initiative at the United Nations aimed at halting weapons sales to Israel, adding that Italy's support would significantly strengthen this effort.
