Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is set to meet with German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier in Ankara on Wednesday, according to a statement from Türkiye’s communications director Fahrettin Altun.

The discussions are expected to focus on enhancing cooperation in the defense industry, as well as addressing a broad range of bilateral issues between Türkiye and Germany. Altun noted that the agenda will also include the situation of the Turkish community in Germany, which remains an important topic for both nations.

In addition, the two leaders are anticipated to exchange views on Türkiye-EU relations and current regional issues, reflecting the multifaceted nature of the upcoming talks. "We believe that the long-standing and deep-rooted bilateral relations between Türkiye and Germany will be further strengthened through this visit," Altun said in a statement on social media platform X.
