Erdoğan, UAE President discuss regional security strategy during high-level diplomatic call

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and United Arab Emirates President Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan held a phone call on Sunday.
During the conversation, President Erdoğan highlighted Türkiye’s “Terror-Free Türkiye” initiative, describing it as a pivotal effort to eliminate terrorism not only within Türkiye but across the broader region, according to a statement from the Turkish Presidency.
He emphasized that the campaign would proceed with resolute determination. President Al Nahyan expressed strong support for the initiative, noting that Türkiye’s success in eradicating terrorism would significantly enhance regional stability and security. He extended his best wishes for the campaign’s continued progress.
The leaders also reviewed the robust strategic partnership between Türkiye and the UAE, which Erdoğan said has yielded “positive results in all fields.” He specifically pointed to promising opportunities in defense industry collaboration and emerging technologies as key areas for further growth. The discussion underscored the deepening ties between the two nations, which have increasingly aligned on economic and security priorities in recent years.
On regional diplomacy, Erdoğan commended the UAE for hosting peace talks between Azerbaijan and Armenia in Abu Dhabi. He affirmed Türkiye’s close monitoring of the negotiations and reiterated Ankara’s support for efforts to achieve lasting peace in the Caucasus, a region critical to Türkiye’s strategic interests.
