Magnitude-4.4 earthquake rocks western Turkish town Kuşadası

The offshore quake took place off the coast of the Kuşadası district in Türkiye’s southwestern Aydın province, Türkiye’s Disaster and Emergency Management Presidency announced.
The earthquake occurred at around 08:26 TSI, with its epicenter at a latitude of 37.962 degrees north and a longitude of 27.141 degrees east, and at a depth of 6.97 km.
Local sources confirmed that the tremor was felt in nearby provinces, including Muğla, Denizli, Aydın, and Izmir.
The seismic activity caught the attention of residents and authorities in these regions, sparking concerns about potential damage and the safety of affected communities.
Earthquakes are not uncommon in the Aegean Sea region, which is situated in a seismically active zone.
