More than 50 people, including public officials and former police officers, were arrested on Tuesday in operations against FETO organization in Turkey.
Adana public prosecutor’s office released arrest warrants for 22 suspects in the provinces of Adana, Istanbul, Mersin, Osmaniye and Isparta.
In another operation, 10 people were arrested in 10 provinces, including Istanbul and Ankara on order from Balıkesir public prosecutor’s office.
20 more people were arrested in a third operation in the southern province of Antalya.
Since May 2016, the FETO organization has been classified as a terrorist organization by Turkey under the assigned names Fethullahist Terrorist Organization and Parallel State Structure. After the failed coup attempt in 2016, the government of Turkey blamed the group for the coup and authorities have arrested thousands of soldiers and judges who have links to the organization.
