"No matter where in the world we may be, one day we will reclaim our homeland. We will liberate our lands from occupiers. We will never surrender to the zionist regime and genocide," says Huseyin Muhammed, a Palestinian student studying in Türkiye.
Global protests, particularly in the US, have erupted against the genocide being committed by the zionists in Gaza since October 7, 2023. These protests have turned into a "Global Intifada."
In Türkiye, university students have been showing their support for the Gazan and Palestinian people. Bursa Technical University student communities initiated a week-long tent vigil under the slogan "Campuses Rise for Gaza, Long Live Global Intifada."
Huseyin Muhammed, a Palestinian student at the university, shared his feelings and thoughts with an ILKHA correspondent. Expressing his disappointment that Islamic countries remained silent against the Israeli atrocities, Muhammed faithfully stated, "We will reclaim our occupied lands. We are Palestinians, we will always be in Palestine."
"First of all, may the souls of our dear martyrs rest in peace," said Muhammed, adding, "While in the United States and European Union countries, police brutally attack peaceful demonstrations in support of Palestine, we can freely speak and act in Türkiye. In the West, students and academics are arrested for protesting against Israeli oppression. Even those who do not take our side in Türkiye respect our opinions. We are very grateful for Türkiye's efforts for the freedom of Palestine, including exhibitions, marches, calls for ceasefire, and the cessation of trade."
Muhammed emphasized the determination of the Palestinians to liberate the country from the zionist occupation, stating: "We will take back our occupied lands Insha’Allah. We know those who are doing their best. Others will one day see the realities that Israel is trying to cover up, and then they will support us, too. Despite the zionist regime and genocide, we will never submit to them." (ILKHA)
