Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan extended a heartfelt message of solidarity to the Bulgarian people in response to the devastating wildfires in Bulgaria's Svilengrad region.
Responding to a social media post by Bulgarian President Rumen Radev, who expressed gratitude for Türkiye's assistance in controlling the fires, President Erdoğan emphasized the importance of international cooperation in combating such disasters.
"Dear counterpart, fighting forest fires is a humanitarian responsibility for all of us. Türkiye will continue to stand in solidarity with its friends in difficult times," Erdoğan wrote on his social media account. He added, "On behalf of myself and my nation, I convey my get well wishes and greetings to the people of Bulgaria."
