The Turkish Coast Guard Command announced that a team was dispatched to the region following reports of irregular migrants stranded in life rafts off the coast of Datça district in Muğla.
The rescue operation successfully saved 71 irregular migrants, including 11 children, from five life rafts that had been pushed into Turkish territorial waters by Greek forces.
After being brought ashore, the rescued migrants were handed over to the Provincial Directorate of Migration Management for further processing. (ILKHA)
