The Turkish Foreign Ministry has issued a strong condemnation following the attack on former US President and current presidential candidate Donald Trump during a political rally in Pennsylvania.
In an official statement, the ministry declared: "We strongly condemn the attack on the former President of the USA and presidential candidate in the upcoming elections, Mr. Donald Trump, at a political rally in Pennsylvania."
The ministry emphasized that the assassination attempt represents not only an attack on an individual but also an assault on democratic principles. "This assassination attempt is also an assault on the will of the people. Interference in democratic politics through violence, coups, and other illegitimate means is unacceptable," the statement read.
Expressing hope for a peaceful election process in the United States, the ministry concluded: "We hope that the upcoming elections in the United States will take place in a peaceful environment."
The attack on Trump has raised significant concerns about security and the integrity of the democratic process as the US approaches its next presidential election. (ILKHA)
