Turkish President Erdogan to attend Turkic states summit in Azerbaijan

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will travel to Azerbaijan on Tuesday to participate in the 12th summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), hosted by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in the city of Gabala.
The announcement was made Monday by Turkish Communications Director Burhanettin Duran via a post on the social media platform X. Duran stated that the high-level gathering will convene under the theme “Regional Peace and Security,” reflecting the bloc's strategic priorities.
The summit aims to review ongoing efforts to bolster the institutional framework of the OTS and enhance multilateral cooperation across various sectors among member nations. A key outcome of the meeting will be the adoption of several pivotal documents and decisions, with the Gabala Declaration standing as the cornerstone accord.
According to the official statement, President Erdogan's itinerary includes active participation in the Council of Heads of State meeting, a key sideline event of the summit. The Turkish leader is also scheduled to hold a series of bilateral talks with fellow heads of state attending the gathering, underscoring Turkey's commitment to deepening diplomatic ties within the Turkic world.
The summit represents a significant step in solidifying the OTS as a crucial platform for dialogue and collaboration, focusing on fostering stability and prosperity across the region. (ILKHA)
