Türkiye's President of Religious Affairs Ali Erbaş has announced that a salaah (Islamic call to prayer) will be recited in all mosques on Friday, followed by a funeral prayer in absentia after the Friday prayers, in honor of the assassinated Hamas political bureau head, Ismail Haniyeh.
“Tomorrow, the salaah will be given in all our mosques and the funeral prayer will be held in absentia after the Friday prayer. May his place be in heaven,” Erbaş said in a statement on X (formerly Twitter).
This declaration comes after President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's earlier announcement of a national mourning day to show solidarity with the Palestinian cause and honor Haniyeh's memory. (ILKHA)
