Thousands of people from all walks of life gathered on Sunday at the Yenikapı Event Area for the Mawlid al-Nabi celebration organized by the Prophet’s Lovers Foundation.
The event, themed "Jihad Leader Prophet Muhammad", saw participation from representatives of Islamic movements from Türkiye and around the world, scholars, opinion leaders, numerous NGOs, and political party representatives.
Vahdettin İnce, a researcher and author who attended the event, spoke to the ILKHA correspondent in Kurdish. He emphasized the importance of Prophet Muhammad's birth for humanity and highlighted the Prophet as a leader of jihad and freedom.
"We are happy that such an event is organized in Istanbul on this occasion. Such a valuable and precious meeting has not been organized in Istanbul for a long time. Therefore, I congratulate those who organized the event," said İnce. He further added, "Prophet Muhammad is the leader of the freedom of the oppressed and the victims. He has shown us all the way. We should know his value. We should know his birth, his death, and his path in every aspect and be worthy of it. Therefore, this meeting is very important."
İnce also drew attention to the ongoing crisis in Gaza. "There is something that breaks our hearts these days; it is the attacks Israel has launched on Gaza. A great massacre is being carried out. Approximately 40-50 thousand people were martyred. Most of those martyred are children, women. Civilian people are being slaughtered. Therefore, we should not forget Gaza on this day when we remember the Messenger of God. The liberation of Gaza happens by following the path of the Messenger of God. Hopefully, the Mawlid al-Nabi event will be a prayer for the freedom of Gaza and the destruction of the oppressors," he concluded. (ILKHA)
