In his weekly statement on foreign agenda, HÜDA PAR Chairman İshak Sağlam warned Egyptian administration over its decision to deploy troops in Libya.

He has also made important observations on the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) report released on Thursday.

Assessing the Egypt's parliament decision to approve a proposal that empowers military intervention in Libya, Sağlam said:" If Egyptian Army intervenes in Libya, the chaos and destruction will be permanent in Egypt, Libya as well as all Africa countries."

Touching on the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) report, Sağlam said: "The report called for the immediate introduction of a Temporary Basic Income for the world’s poorest people could slow the current surge in COVID-19 cases by enabling nearly three billion people to stay at home. Declaring that 265 million more people are in danger of facing starvation by the end of the year, the UN reported that only $ 1.7 billion has been collected so far, up from the $ 10.3 billion needed for humanitarian aid. Despite warnings that 6,000 children may die per day from preventable causes, these preventative works cannot be carried out because the necessary funds cannot be provided."

"Monthly cost of a temporary basic income to poor and vulnerable people is about $199. Nevertheless, developed countries has adopted a policy that prioritize their own economy during the global crisis. Therefore, they are not providing the necessary support to the anti-poverty funds. The chaos, which is the main reason of poverty and humanitarian plights across the world, is deepening due to military expenditures of the countries. The economic resources, which can be used to provide a temporary basic income for people who live in poverty, is canalizing to military spendings. The assistance needed to deal with the worsening humanitarian plights should be collected urgently and funds should be created covering the basic requirements such as health and education for people living in crisis zones," Sağlam said.

About Egypt's parliament decision to approve a proposal that empowers military intervention in Libya, Sağlam said: "Conflict and humanitarian crisis have been going on in Libya for nearly a decade as a result of imperialist policies. Finally, the approval of the motion in the Egyptian parliament that paves the way for military intervention in Libya aims to deepen the crisis. If Egyptian Army intervenes in Libya, the chaos and destruction will be permanent in Egypt, Libya as well as all Africa countries. Only Russia, USA and zionist occupation regime will take advantage of the further chaos in Libya. Therefore, relevant countries should not many any choices except a political solution."

"A negotiating table for a political solution must be established between Egypt, Turkey and Libya by keeping intermediaries out"

Sağlam concluded his remarks as follows:" It is pleasing that the negotiations between Turkey and Russia to find a political solution to the crisis in Libya have concluded with agreement and that they have decided to continue joint efforts for a permanent ceasefire.

However, it is necessary to know that the common interests of Russia, the United States and Zionism requires continuing to chaos in Libya. If Egypt and Turkey engage in an armed conflict, it will only serve the interests of these countries. Therefore, a negotiating table for a political solution must be established between Egypt, Turkey and Libya by keeping intermediaries out. A consensus is urgently needed on the principles of protecting the common interests of Egypt, Turkey and Libya, preserving Libya's territorial integrity and keeping the humanitarian channels open.
