Afghanistan extends condolences over Turkish military plane crash
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan has expressed deep sorrow and solidarity with Türkiye following the tragic crash of a Turkish military transport plane near the Georgia-Azerbaijan border on Tuesday.
In an official statement issued on Wednesday, the Ministry conveyed heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims, as well as to the Turkish government and people, describing the event as a “painful tragedy” that has caused grief across the region.
“We mourn the loss of life in this unfortunate event and pray for the eternal peace of the martyrs,” the statement said.
The Ministry reaffirmed the Islamic Emirate’s sympathy and compassion toward Türkiye, noting the close brotherly relations between the two nations rooted in shared faith and historical ties.
While details surrounding the cause of the crash are still under investigation, Turkish authorities have confirmed that a number of military personnel were on board the transport aircraft when it went down near the border zone.
Officials in Ankara have launched a full inquiry into the incident.
