Afghanistan celebrated the third anniversary of the liberation from 20 years of American occupation on Wednesday, August 14.
The occasion was marked by nationwide celebrations and official statements praising the efforts that led to the withdrawal of U.S. and coalition forces in 2021.
In a statement released by the Islamic Emirate, August 14 was described as “an important and glorious day in the history of Afghanistan” when the "great aggressive forces of the time were defeated" through the "Jihad, struggle, patience, and perseverance of the Afghan people." The Emirate praised the Mujahideen fighters for their role in securing this victory, offering congratulations and honoring their sacrifices.
The Islamic Emirate reaffirmed its commitment to upholding the "Islamic system" established since their takeover, which they claim has brought "peace and security" to Afghanistan, providing opportunities for both material and spiritual prosperity. The leadership called on all Afghans to be “grateful for this great blessing” and to remain vigilant in protecting the Islamic system now in place.
The statement also included a prayer asking for divine guidance for the country's leadership and officials as they continue to implement Sharia law across Afghanistan. (ILKHA)
