The number of confirmed cases has reached 1,759,103 in Brazil, an increase of 42,907 cases in the last 24 hours.
Brazil has reported 1,199 new deaths from coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the country’s death toll from the virus to 69,254.
While at least 8,318 patients are being treated in intensive care units, more than 1,152,467 patients suffering from coronavirus have fully recovered and been discharged from hospital.
Sao Paulo, the country’s most-populated state, continues to be the epicenter of the coronavirus pandemic in Brazil. The state has so far reported more than 350,000 confirmed coronavirus cases, with at least 17,118 deaths.
According to the country’s Health Ministry, more than 6,500 ventilators have so far delivered by the Government of Brazil.
“The equipment was delivered in all states and in the Federal District. The purchase and distribution of the ventilators is part of the strategic support of the Brazilian government in assisting states,” the ministry said. (ILKHA)
