Iran has reported 91 new deaths from coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 57,651, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Wednesday.
After 6,608 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 1,392,314 in the country.
There are at least 4,024 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than, 1,183,463 patients have been discharged from hospital after being cured.
So far, at least 9,070,167 tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 2,169,461 with 100,921,663 cases and more than 72,960,697 recoveries. (ILKHA)
