The death toll from a rain-triggered landslide in central China's Hunan Province has risen to 15, according to the provincial emergency command center on Sunday.
The landslide struck Yuelin Village in the city of Hengyang at approximately 8 a.m. on Sunday, washing away part of a residential house.
In addition to the 15 confirmed fatalities, six others were injured and have been taken to a hospital for treatment.
Over 300 rescuers were dispatched to the scene, and rescue efforts have now concluded.
The incident underscores the severe impact of recent heavy rains in the region, prompting ongoing concerns about the safety and stability of local infrastructure. Authorities continue to monitor the situation and provide assistance to those affected. (ILKHA)
