Hamas condemns Israeli abuses of activists on Global Sumud Flotilla

The Hamas Movement has denounced the inhumane treatment suffered by activists aboard the Global Sumud Flotilla, describing their testimonies as compelling evidence of Israel’s ongoing human rights violations.
In a press release issued Monday, Hamas detailed that the activists, who were intercepted and abducted in international waters by Israeli forces, endured humiliation, abuse, and deprivation of their most basic human rights. The Movement underscored that these acts are part of a longstanding pattern of Israeli crimes conducted outside the framework of international law.
“These testimonies reveal the systemic brutality of the occupation and its persistent disregard for human values,” the statement read.
Hamas called on governments, international human rights organizations, and humanitarian bodies to document the experiences of the flotilla activists and take immediate legal action. The Movement urged that Israeli leaders be held accountable before the International Criminal Court and relevant national courts, framing this as both a defense of human dignity and a support of the Palestinian cause.
The statement further highlighted the continued suffering of the Palestinian people under siege, starvation, and what Hamas described as ongoing genocide, noting that international silence has only emboldened Israeli aggression.
“Hamas urges all concerned nations and rights organizations to urgently record these testimonies and ensure that justice is pursued against Israel and its leaders through all available legal channels,” the release concluded.
The Global Sumud Flotilla incident adds to growing international attention on Israel’s blockade and military actions in Gaza, as Palestinians call for accountability and an end to systematic violations of their rights. (ILKHA)
