Khaled Mishaal, head of Hamas’s foreign political bureau, has extended his condolences and congratulations to the family of Mohammad Deif, the commander of Hamas’s Al-Qassam Brigades, following his reported death.
In a phone call with Deif’s family, Mishaal expressed deep sorrow while also hailing Deif as a symbol of pride for the Islamic nation.
“The steps of the hero leader Abu Khaled Deif will lead us to liberation,” Mishaal stated.
Earlier, Hamas’s military wing, Al-Qassam Brigades, declared the death of its Chief of Staff Mohammad Deif along with six other senior commanders during Israeli military operations in Gaza.
The loss of Deif marks a significant moment in the ongoing conflict, given his high-ranking position within Hamas’s military structure. His leadership was considered pivotal in the group’s operations and strategic planning.
Deif’s reported death comes amid intensified Israeli strikes in Gaza, which have resulted in mounting casualties. Hamas and Israeli forces remain locked in escalating hostilities, with both sides sustaining heavy losses.
The situation continues to draw international attention, with concerns growing over the humanitarian crisis in Gaza. Observers are closely monitoring developments, as regional tensions show no sign of de-escalation. (ILKHA)
