Senior Hamas official Basem Naim has declared that ceasefire negotiations with the Israeli occupation are futile while the ongoing assault on Gaza continues.

In an interview broadcast Thursday on Al-Araby satellite channel, Naim accused the Israeli regime of using ceasefire talks as a deceptive façade to conceal its crimes and military schemes.

“Israel is deceiving everyone by pretending to engage in negotiations, while in reality it is intensifying its aggression against our people,” Naim said.

The Hamas official stressed that the ongoing Israeli military operation in Gaza City would be met with determined and fierce resistance. “Whatever befalls our people during the assault on Gaza City will directly impact the Israeli captives as well,” Naim warned, emphasizing that the fate of Israeli prisoners is closely tied to the actions of the occupation forces.

Naim affirmed that under the current circumstances, no ceasefire negotiations can take place. “We reiterate Qatar’s position regarding the futility of negotiations amid the ongoing aggression,” he said, highlighting the collective Palestinian and regional stance that dialogue is meaningless while the occupation continues its military campaign.

The statement underscores Hamas’ unwavering commitment to defending Gaza against the ongoing siege and attacks, signaling that resistance will continue until Israeli operations cease and the suffering of Gaza’s civilians is addressed. (ILKHA)
