Ismail Haneyya, the head of Hamas’s political bureau Ismail Haneyya said that the four israeli captive soldiers in the Gaza Strip will not see daylight without the Palestinian prisoners enjoying what he called “the sun of freedom.”
Haneyya made his remarks on Saturday during his online speech at an Arab forum in support of prisoners and detainees in israeli jails.
The Hamas leader stressed that the issue of the Palestinian prisoners in israeli jails would remain a top priority for his Movement, which supports the prisoners’ battles of steadfastness behind bars and work on extracting their freedom.
Haneyya pointed to the success of Hamas in liberating more than one thousand prisoners in the 2011 prisoner swap deal, which confirmed that “this enemy gives nothing without forcing it to do so.”
He also expressed his belief that “the Sword of Jerusalem (the Palestinian name of last May’s battle in Gaza) put the region on the path to ending the Israeli occupation and settling the historical conflict with the Zionist project in Palestine.” (ILKHA)
