The Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah announced on Saturday that it had launched a missile attack on the Jabal Neriya base, which serves as the headquarters for the Israeli army’s Golani Brigade.
In a statement, Hezbollah said the strike was in retaliation for recent Israeli military actions against civilian areas in southern Lebanon, particularly the aggression on the village of Froun. The statement confirmed that the attack was carried out using Katyusha rockets.
This follows an earlier assault by Hezbollah on Friday, where it targeted the Ma’yan Baruch military base, the Zabadin barracks, and several buildings used by Israeli forces in the northern town of al-Mutala’a in occupied Palestine. These operations were carried out using drones and missiles.
Hezbollah’s strikes have intensified since the beginning of Operation Al-Aqsa Storm, launched by Palestinian resistance groups. The Lebanese movement has increased its efforts to engage Israeli forces along the northern front in a bid to ease pressure on Gaza’s resistance fighters.
In August, Hezbollah fired 1,307 rockets from southern Lebanon into the occupied territories, according to Israeli Army Radio, marking the highest number of rockets launched from Lebanon since the onset of Israel’s war on Gaza.
The continued hostilities come amid heightened tensions across the region, as the Israeli military continues its aggressive operations in Gaza and southern Lebanon. (ILKHA)
