Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance movement launched a series of retaliatory operations on Saturday, striking five major Israeli military bases in Haifa and surrounding areas in northern occupied Palestine.
The operations, part of Hezbollah’s Khaybar series, were conducted under the slogan “We are at your service, O Nasrallah,” honoring the group’s former secretary general, who was martyred in Israeli airstrikes on Beirut in late September.
Targets of the Strikes
Hezbollah’s missile salvos simultaneously hit critical Israeli military installations:
Haifa Technical Base: Associated with the Israeli Air Force, housing a training college.
Haifa Naval Base: Home to missile boats and submarines.
Stella Maris Base: A strategic maritime and monitoring outpost.
Tirat Carmel Base: Logistics and transport battalion hub.
Nesher Base: A gas station serving the Israeli military.
Additional strikes targeted:
Shayetet 13 Headquarters: At the Atilit base, home to the Israeli naval special missions unit.
Shraga Base: Command center of the Israeli military’s Golani Brigade near Akka.
Rocket Barrages on Settlements and Clashes in Southern Lebanon
In parallel, Hezbollah targeted Israeli military gatherings and illegal settlements, including Kiryat Shmona, Kfar Giladi, Margaliot, Avivim, and Katzrin, with rocket barrages. The Israeli military’s Ramim barracks and areas near the Kfar Yuval settlement were also hit.
In southern Lebanon, Hezbollah fighters ambushed advancing Israeli forces near Shamaa, clashing at close range with machine guns and rocket-propelled grenades. A Merkava tank was destroyed with a guided missile, reportedly killing and injuring its occupants.
Casualties and Escalating Resistance
Hezbollah claims its operations have inflicted significant losses on Israeli forces. The group stated on Thursday that over 100 Israeli soldiers had been killed and more than 1,000 wounded since the escalation began in October 2023.
Israel’s intensified aggression against Lebanon, which has claimed over 3,360 lives, including women and children, has prompted Hezbollah to carry out hundreds of reprisal operations. (ILKHA)
