Iran has reported 199 new deaths from coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 19,331, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Friday.
After 2,501 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 338,825 in the country.
There are at least 3,965 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, 293,811 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospital.
So far, more than 2,711,817 tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 758,036 with 21,103,111 cases and more than 13,950,771 recoveries. (ILKHA)
