After 3,712 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 429,193 in the country, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Tuesday.
178 more people have died of coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 24,656.
There are at least 3,922 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than 363,737 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospital.
So far, more than 3,800,619 tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 970,080 with 31,518,455 cases and more than 23,140,678 recoveries. (ILKHA)
