After 3,563 more people tested positive for coronavirus in the past 24 hours, the number of infections has risen to 439,882 in the country, the Health Ministry Spokeswoman Sima Lari said in her daily press conference on Friday.
207 more people have died of coronavirus over the past 24 hours, bringing the number of deaths from the virus to 25,222.
There are at least 4,203 people in intensive care units, Lari said, adding that, of those tested positive for the virus, more than 369,842 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospital.
So far, more than 3,879,640 tests have been taken across the country to detect infected cases, said the Health Ministry spokeswoman.
According to Worldometer, which is a reference website that provides counters and real-time statistics for diverse topics, the global death toll from coronavirus has surpassed 988,550 with 32,463,172 cases and more than 23,957,989 recoveries. (ILKHA)
