Iranian military spokesman: Resistance will continue until liberation of Jerusalem

Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi, senior spokesperson for Iran’s Armed Forces General Staff, reaffirmed Iran’s unwavering support for the Palestinian cause and underlined the independence of resistance movements across the region.
Speaking to Iranian media, Shekarchi emphasized that Palestinian fighters and other resistance groups act out of conviction and principle, not under the command of foreign powers.
“Brave Palestinian fighters and other resistance movements fight based on their own beliefs, and in defending their lands, they do not need to take orders from others,” he said.
Shekarchi described resistance as an “invincible idea,” stressing that no amount of military technology or weaponry could erase the belief in liberation. “The Islamic Republic of Iran and the heroic Iranian nation also firmly support the resistance,” he declared.
Referring to the recent 12-day confrontation between Iran and the Zionist regime, Shekarchi said the occupying entity had suffered severe blows.
“The Zionists were forced to taste the bitter flavor of defeat; many sensitive and key military and security centers, from north to south of the occupied territories, were targeted and reduced to rubble,” he said.
Addressing threats from U.S. and Israeli officials aimed at weakening or dismantling resistance, the senior Iranian commander dismissed such efforts as futile.
“America and the Zionist regime will never succeed through plots such as disarming the resistance, imposing economic sanctions, or massacring women and children. They are becoming more isolated and weaker by the day, and the path they have chosen will ultimately lead to their own destruction,” Shekarchi stated.
He further warned Tel Aviv against continuing threats, saying past experiences had proven the futility of such rhetoric.
“If carried out, even heavier defeats await them. The resistance will continue until final victory and the liberation of Jerusalem,” Shekarchi affirmed. (ILKHA)
