Resistance groups in Iraq have intensified their operations against Israeli strongholds in solidarity with the Palestinian people amidst the ongoing genocide in Gaza.
The Islamic Resistance in Iraq announced on Sunday that its fighters conducted a drone strike targeting a significant site in Umm al-Rashrash (Eilat), in southernmost occupied Palestine. The group’s statement highlighted that the operation is part of their ongoing resistance against the Israeli occupation and a direct response to the massacres committed by Israeli forces against defenseless Palestinians, including children, women, and the elderly.
The Iraqi Resistance expressed its commitment to escalating operations against Israeli targets, signaling a sustained campaign of military action.
This announcement follows a vow by Sheikh Akram Al-Kaabi, Secretary-General of the al-Nujaba Movement in Iraq, to broaden the scope and intensity of military operations conducted by resistance groups in Yemen, Lebanon, and Iraq. Al-Kaabi's statement was a response to Israeli aggression targeting Yemen on Saturday.
Al-Kaabi affirmed that the Israeli occupation would face consequences for its actions, to be exacted by the "free people of the world and the Axis of Resistance." He emphasized that these groups have consistently supported Palestine and will continue to do so. The operations have not ceased since the initiation of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood.
The Iraqi Resistance’s recent actions and statements underscore their ongoing commitment to opposing the Israeli occupation and supporting the Palestinian cause through military means. (ILKHA)
