Israeli drone attack kills Palestinian in eastern Gaza
Israeli occupation forces continue to violate ceasefire with intensified strikes on Gaza City, Khan Yunus and central camps, killing 1 and causing widespread panic.
A Palestinian man was martyred on Monday after being targeted by an Israeli “kamikaze-type” quadcopter drone in the eastern part of Gaza City, as the Israeli regime continued its systematic violations of the ceasefire agreement through new air and artillery attacks.
Medical sources identified the martyr as Muhammad Nasr Siam, stating that he was struck in the eastern sector of Zeitoun neighborhood, an area repeatedly targeted despite the truce. The attack occurred near the Israeli-imposed “yellow line” buffer zone.
Local sources reported that Israeli warplanes launched further airstrikes on the eastern outskirts of Shujaiya and Tuffah neighborhoods. Artillery units also bombarded the eastern areas of Khan Yunus, while occupation helicopters opened fire towards residential zones, putting civilians at risk.
In central Gaza, the northern surroundings of the Bureij Refugee Camp came under intense artillery fire, sparking fear and chaos among already displaced families.
According to figures released by the Gaza Government Media Office, the occupation has committed 591 ceasefire violations over the past 50 days. These attacks resulted in 357 Palestinians being martyred, 903 others injured, and 38 civilians arbitrarily detained.
The statement noted that the violations included 164 direct shooting incidents, 25 ground incursions, 280 air and artillery assaults, and the destruction of 118 homes and civilian structures.
The Media Office condemned what it described as “serious, systematic and deliberate violations” of the ceasefire, asserting that such actions constitute a clear breach of international humanitarian law. It held the Zionist regime fully responsible for the consequences of the continued attacks.
The Office called on the United States, mediators and the UN Security Council to intervene immediately and pressure the occupation to halt its operations and protect civilians in the Gaza Strip.(ILKHA)
