Israeli forces kidnap dozens of Palestinians in West Bank raid campaign
Israeli occupation forces launched a new wave of violent night raids across the occupied West Bank, including occupied East Jerusalem, abducting at least 40 Palestinians from their homes between Monday evening and Tuesday morning.
The Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS) reported that the abductions were concentrated in Hebron, Nablus, and Bethlehem, with further raids carried out in Ramallah, Jenin, Salfit, and Qalqilya. During the attacks, Israeli soldiers conducted field interrogations, detaining and threatening dozens of young men in the streets.
According to PPS, the raids were accompanied by brutal assaults on detainees and their families, including the use of live ammunition with intent to kill, the taking of civilians as hostages, and the deliberate destruction and vandalism of Palestinian homes.
Rights groups stressed that these mass abductions are not isolated incidents but part of a long-standing, systematic policy of collective punishment targeting all segments of Palestinian society. Since the beginning of the ongoing war against the Palestinian people, the number of Palestinians detained in the West Bank has reportedly reached around 21,000.
Local residents described scenes of fear and devastation as military vehicles stormed neighborhoods, doors were blown open, and families — including children — were terrorized in the middle of the night.
Palestinian human rights organizations warned that the escalating campaign reflects an entrenched strategy to break the will of the Palestinian people, while calls continue for international accountability and urgent protection for civilians under occupation. (ILKHA)
