The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates has strongly condemned recent Israeli statements denying the Palestinians' right to establish an independent and sovereign state on their own land.
The Israeli comments, which also suggested the possibility of establishing a Palestinian state on Saudi Arabian territory, were described by Jordan as provocative and inciting, representing a clear violation of international law and United Nations resolutions, as well as the sovereignty of states.
In a statement issued today, Jordan's Ministry spokesperson, Ambassador Sufyan Qudah, criticized the Israeli government's ongoing provocative actions that undermine national sovereignty and international law. He emphasized Jordan's unwavering rejection of such remarks, calling them inflammatory and harmful to peace efforts, further exacerbating tensions in the region.
Ambassador Qudah also expressed Jordan's full support for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, urging the international community to condemn and denounce these irresponsible statements.
He reiterated that the Israeli government's attempt to shift focus away from the root cause of the regional conflict—namely, the occupation of Palestinian lands and violations of Palestinian rights—would not succeed. He reaffirmed that the Palestinian people remain steadfast in their right to establish an independent state with full sovereignty, based on the pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Furthermore, Ambassador Qudah called for an immediate halt to Israeli escalation in the occupied West Bank, including ongoing incursions, settlement expansion, and land seizures, all of which serve to deepen the occupation. He stressed that lasting peace, security, and stability in the region can only be achieved with a resolution that acknowledges Palestinian rights. (ILKHA)
