Mexico’s Foreign Minister Alicia Bárcena called for a ceasefire in Gaza during a phone call with Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi, Iran Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement on Wednesday.
Mexican Foreign Minister congratulated her Iranian counterpart on his appointment as the minister of foreign affairs and extended her wishes for his success and the welfare of the Iranian people.
The Mexican minister also reaffirmed her country’s support for the Palestinian people, asserting that Mexico is in favor of a ceasefire and believes that the ‘violence and bloodshed’ in Gaza must end immediately.
Bárcena expressed optimism that the political dialogue and consultations between the two nations would persist.
Iran Foreign Minister Araghchi underscored the significance of fortifying bilateral relations and maintaining ongoing political dialogues and consultations between the two nations.
Minister Araghchi emphasized the imperative necessity of promptly putting an end to the atrocities committed by the zionist regime in Palestine and the broader region. He also stated that the Islamic Republic of Iran is in favor of any ceasefire agreement that the Palestinian people and resistance groups approve. (ILKHA)
