Hebrew media reported on Thursday that eight Israelis were killed in a series of rocket attacks from Lebanon, targeting areas in Metula in the Upper al-Jalil and the Kiryot in northern Israel.

Reports indicate that the rocket strikes were aimed at a gathering of Israeli soldiers, with six casualties in Metula alone, described as a "severe" incident by Israeli media.

The reports emphasized that Hezbollah, the group believed to be behind the attack, showcased both its capability and strategic precision, as rockets struck in areas heavily concentrated with Israeli soldiers. Analysts in Israel noted that Hezbollah’s ability to launch large volleys of rockets reflects not only its military capacity but also clear intentions, pointing to escalating tensions along the Israel-Lebanon border.

An Israeli military spokesperson later confirmed that around 30 rockets were launched from Lebanon, triggering alerts across the Central, Upper, and Western al-Jalil regions. Sirens wailed in eastern Haifa, the Kiryot, and other parts of Haifa Bay, as well as in the Western al-Jalil settlements of Avivim, Avnei Menachem, Shomera, Zar'it, and Shtula.

In a related incident, Israeli Channel 14 reported two additional fatalities and two injuries near Kiryot from rocket impacts, with emergency response teams dispatched to Fraam following a reported direct hit.

Following the attacks, the Israeli military designated Metula, Kfar Giladi, and Misgav Am as closed military zones, preventing access to civilians based on security assessments. As Hezbollah’s strikes increase in intensity, Israeli media speculate that residents in the north may not be able to return to their homes in the near future due to the ongoing hostilities. (ILKHA)
