Thousands rally in Paris to condemn Israeli genocide in Gaza

Thousands of demonstrators gathered at the iconic Place de la République in Paris last night to demand an end to the ongoing genocide committed by the Israeli occupation regime in Gaza.
The protest followed the launch of a new ground offensive against Gaza City, which has already endured over two years of relentless war, widespread destruction, and severe famine.
Waving Palestinian flags and chanting slogans such as “From the sea to the Jordan, Palestine will live” and “We are all children of Gaza,” the majority of participants were young people expressing anger, grief, and solidarity with the besieged Palestinian population.
Emilie, a Parisian protester, told local media: “I no longer have words, only a sense of anger and helplessness at what is happening. The mobilization should be much stronger, but it seems that we have become accustomed to everything, even horror.”
The demonstration was attended by prominent figures from France’s radical left, including LFI Member of the European Parliament Manon Aubry and Marine Tondelier, leader of the Ecologists, who expressed deep shame at both the attacks in Gaza and the perceived inaction of their own government. Tondelier stated: “I am ashamed of what is happening in Gaza (…) but I am also ashamed of what is happening in France.”
Participants demanded an immediate end to the genocide and Israeli aggression, calling on governments worldwide to impose sanctions on Israel. Protesters also urged the European Union to take decisive action to halt the mass killings, destruction, and forced displacement of Palestinians.
The renewed Israeli offensive, announced on Tuesday, targets Gaza City under the pretext of destroying Hamas. This assault has led to widespread destruction, forced the displacement of an estimated one million residents, and intensified the humanitarian crisis in the region.
The Paris protest reflects growing international outrage and solidarity with Palestinians, as demonstrators continue to call for justice, accountability, and the protection of civilian lives in Gaza. (ILKHA)
